ECPI MARS® - Manager's Alpha & Risk Score

MARS® is a rule-based rating model applied in the alternatives world. Holding the goal of selecting the best-in-class alternative managers, it identifies and evaluates both a manager's alpha generation ability and the fund-specific blow-up risks involved in an investment by focusing on operational and sustainability factors of different alternative strategies.

MARS® carries out more than 150 indicators that fall into eight areas: Corporate Governance, Performance Sustainability, Human Capital, Cost Structure, Transparency, Portfolio, Compliance & Regulation, and Litigation. Eight scales of ratings (ranging from E- to EEE) are used to gauge the business sustainability of alternative managers under evaluation.

Launched in 2005, over the years ECPI research on alternatives have developed its specialties in hedge funds, funds of hedge funds, equity release mortgages, life settlements, and private equities.

ECPI MSA - MicroFinance Sustainability Assessment

ECPI MSA is a rule-based rating model that best captures the specificity of the Microfinance players, in terms of governance and social impact.
Rating MFIs for Investors means increasing transparency of investment products that imply exposure to Debt and/or Equity of those entities, in the form of Private Equity Funds or Luxembourg SICARs.
